Steven Hoffen received the Children Have the Power to Empower® Award for the outstanding acts of goodness he performs through Growing Peace, the nonprofit he founded to help people suffering from food insecurity and hunger.

With kindness and dedication, Steven has raised more than $15,000 to buy, build, and install a hydroponics system at a food bank in Tel Aviv, Israel—a food bank that provides food for, among others, asylum seekers from Eritrea and Sudan. He is expanding his humanitarian projects through additional fundraising to bring hydroponics to schools and other organizations that help those in need.
